Should Christians Support Abortions?

Pro choice or pro life? That seems to be a great question among many people today as both women and men marched the streets in protest of Donald Trump and women’s rights. The world does what it does as it has been filled with the spirit of evil and the devil, but the real question remains, “Should Christian women have abortions?” The next question to follow is, “Should Christians support pro choice?”

“And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:29 NKJV).

Is It Pleasing To The Lord?

The first question to really ask in understanding whether or not Christians should have or support abortions is the question, “is it pleasing to the Lord?” God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and as Christians we should support and respect His creation. As Christians we are also called to do those things which are pleasing to the Lord and glorify Him.

Getting an abortion is destroying a new life that God has created. At the very moment that a heart beat is visible, it is therefore a living being. At that moment the breath of life from God has entered into the new creation and it is then a living soul. To support or have an abortion simply because it will interfere with your life is only predicated upon selfishness and is not of the Spirit or pleasing to the Lord.

There are people that point out the fact that some people can not afford to take care of a kid, and I say that the good Lord never gives us more than what we can handle, as long as we rely on Him. Yes, it is your choice, your choice to have sexual relations and therefore your responsibility to handle your choice in a mature and Godly manner. If you are willing to have sex, be ready and willing to handle the outcome of your actions.

The God of Self

No one wants to take responsibility today, except for themselves as we have become great lovers of ourselves. Self is now the new god of this world just as the many gods of the ancient world. I hear people talk about how brutal ancient practices were, how wicked those people were that they would sacrifice babies to their god ba’al! Some become outraged at such things, and yet they support and condone abortions.

“You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.” (Deuteronomy 12:31).

We practice the same rituals when looked at in a spiritual manner. Women sacrifice babies to the god self. They love themselves so much so that they sacrifice babies that are near conception in order to serve self. They are more worried about careers, money, and their image than they are a living being. They are more than ready to kill a blessing of God in order to satisfy their wants and desires. There is no difference between the ancient ritual of sacrificing babies to ba’al, than the sacrificing of babies to self today.

What About Rape Victims?

At this point many people go, “OK, we got it, but what about rape victims?” There are times in which an abortion is necessary and essential just like complications, a dead fetus and sometimes even the rape factor. But with the famous rape victim cry, it is quite startling and sad when one looks at the statistics of abortion, only to find out that rape victims make up only 0.5% of abortions with the rest being predicated mostly upon self.

Even with the rape scenario applied there are many women or have ended up keeping the child anyways and say they were glad they made that choice. On the opposite end, there are women who were raped that ended up getting an abortion who say they regretted their choice, and rightfully so. Even with rape, a child is still a blessing from God. God works through both good and bad scenarios to bring upon His will.

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be shamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.” (Psalms 127:3-5).

We may not always understand the will of God and what God purposes are through certain situations, but when we tune our eyes to the spiritual realm we can begin to see things more clearly. The unborn child may be part of a rape scenario, but Jesus still loves them anyways and it is our duty, when prompt spiritually as every situation is different, to act in the love of Christ.

The conclusion of the whole matter in regards to abortion and Christians is that we should not support or condone the killing of a living person. We are to act in love and in faith, not fear and selfishness. The world can do what they want, but we are to set an example that represents Jesus Christ. There are times when abortion is essential as I stated in cases of health emergencies, but to say that it is OK to kill a baby for selfish reasons or any reason for that matter, is absolutely non-Christ like.

The Truth Cast Show Podcast

It is not about women’s rights, it is about living for God and knowing that we live in a fallen world. Nothing and no body is perfect except Christ. Instead of fighting for certain rights, whether male or female, we should be proclaiming Christ to the lost world around us. If we want peace in this world, let us proclaim Jesus Christ to those that walk in darkness. We do not need to get entangled with the affairs of this life, but rather help others obtain eternal life through Jesus Christ.

“Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God.” (Isaiah 50:10).

Let us proclaim Christ to the lost world that surrounds us. Let us help the poor rape victims that need help and are uncertain as to what they should do. Let us pray for them and comfort them and support them in doing those things which are pleasing to the Lord. God is always with us and will strengthen us through all situations. We may not always understand His will and purposes, but we can be reassured that He has our good interest in mind and that He uses situations to help us grow in Him and to lean on Him more and more. Hope this helps and God bless!
