Stop Thinking About Yourself And Start Caring About Others

It is quite easy to get wrapped up in ourselves and what is going on in our life. With magazines, TV, Internet and many others promoting self, it is no wonder why we all have a problem with self. Not only do we have influences, but we also have our own flesh that wars against the spirit daily, trying to promote itself over the Spirit of God working in our life.

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

One of the main keys here in humbling ourselves and caring about others is by crucifying the flesh daily. Jesus said to pick up our crosses daily and follow Him and the more we do this on a daily basis, the stronger we become and the less flesh has influence in our life. We must deny ourselves in order to care for others.

When we begin our day in the Word of God and in prayer with Him, we are then strengthened by the Holy Spirit as we go into the crazy world abroad. At that moment we begin to walk and live in the Spirit and not by fleshly ambitions and control. We then are sensitive to the calling of the Spirit and where He wants us to go serve and help others. At that moment we can fully help others by the enabling power of the Spirit working in our life as the flesh and its desires are crucified.

“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” (‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:24-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Are you ready to let go of the flesh and fully pursue the will of God for your life? Are you ready to help others and show others the love of God?
