Take Care Of God’s Creation

Some people tend to call me a tree hugger from time to time, but I like to say that I am just a God fearing man instead. The Lord called us to take care of His creation from the beginning and not use it mass monetary gain. We are to love the animals, plants and trees and take care of them so that they take care of us.

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.” (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:28-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Many people take the previous verse and twist it into a corruptive ruling ideal where man can destroy the earth as he has been called to “subdue it and have dominion over it.” We are to conquer and rule the earth, but in a positive manner and not a dictatorship. We were called to subdue and rule in a manner that represents God’s love and righteousness.

“A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” (Proverbs‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Before the flood man did not eat animals as much with herbs, fruits and vegetables being their primary source of food. I am not saying that all of us need to become vegans, but we should take care of our temporary home just like we should take care of our bodies.

On a personal note I do find it quite funny and sad when a fellow Christian tries telling me how I should live my life when they are over weight and in bad health. Listen, if you can not even take care of the temple God blessed you with, what makes you think you can tell others how to live their life? If you do not even follow one of the easiest commands in the Bible, how can you follow the rest?

Watch Now: The Meaning Of Life

Rant aside, we need to take care of God’s creation with love, mercy and discipline. The reason I put discipline is because love without discipline is not real love. We have to not only rule over the earth and bring it into subjection according to God’s love and righteousness, but our bodies as well. It takes discipline to do either one, believe you me.

All in all let us love the Lord’s creation and take care of it properly. Let us not go crazy in destroying the whole earth for monetary gain, and at the same time let us not go crazy and worship His creation either. The only way to truly accomplish this is by first subjecting our own bodies to the Spirit and taking care of them and then we can take care of the rest. God bless!
