“Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.”Matthew 23:28 NKJV
This morning I find it sad and quite wild that within many churches today and many Christians lives we see nothing but Pharisees. Over the years I have had many proclaimed Christians and family show Selina, Bell and I no love or grace at all. And so I felt the Lord calling me to write this to help clarify the realities of being a true follower of Christ.
Many proclaim Jesus and yet act self righteous. They proclaim love and yet only show it towards who they feel are worthy of it. They proclaim forgiveness and yet show none towards others themselves. They proclaim kindness and yet are completely fake.
Many of the Christians that act like this I have witnessed and know are the ones that have never really been through hard things in life. They are the ones that were always the “goodie goods” and when they received Jesus they never truly did because they already felt they were good enough without Him and never really grasp the full concept of forgiveness.
To all those that proclaim and yet do not live out the gospel, please listen. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus called us to love all people, so we must love all people, not with a fake love, but with an authentic Godly love. Obviously we are not to be friends with the world but at the same time we are not to shun others, but rather try and lead the to Christ through love and the Holy Spirit.
We are called to show kindness, so let us show kindness without hypocrisy. We are called to forgive, so let us fully forgive and move on in the grace of God without holding grudges. Finally we are called to proclaim Jesus to the lost world around us, so let us proclaim His name without self righteousness, but rather in a humbled manner and with meekness while being filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Step away from being fake and step into a true relationship with the Lord and be filled with His Spirit, love and grace. Do not be a Pharisee, but rather a follower of Jesus Christ and a child of God.
