Hot or Cold

Just as in times past there are lukewarm churches and Christians who live within a mediocre type lifestyle for Christ. They are neither hot or cold, but rather set themselves in the comfortable position of attending church and playing the part with no real commitment or relationship with God. All in all we are called to much more than this.

““I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Without full dedication to the Lord we are then not much better than an unbeliever according to scripture. Now does this mean you much sign up for everything at church and hold Bible studies at your house? No, it means that you should seek to live for the Lord in your everyday life and what He calls you to then pursue with you whole heart. It means that we should seek to live and walk in the Spirit while having a personal, loving relationship with our Lord and Savior.

We are called to be children of God and as children, our Father in heaven wants us to bond with Him and come to know Him personally. He is not some distant and unknowable deity, but a loving Father who is closer than we can ever imagine. He seeks to reveal to us His glory and nature and lead us to still waters within our souls to bring us everlasting peace and joy.

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Is your commitment and relationship with the Lord lukewarm? Spend some quality alone time with Him this morning and listen to what He speaks upon your heart and mind today.
