Over the years of different life events, both good and bad, I have come to realize that my wife and I are much stronger than we give ourselves credit. Each situation presents new challenges that were greater than before, and yet we overcome them. Racing pro motocross, traveling, seven dogs, and a child with Leukemia? And now we are looking at moving to Colorado? And I say, “Let’s get er done!”
Why and how are we strong, and much stronger than what we give ourselves as well as other people give us? Is it super powers or possibly crack? It is none other than the power of the Holy Spirit of God working in our lives. I can not and will not give credit to us or any other because I know that it is God that works in us and that gives us strength.
“God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect.”
II Samuel 22:33 NKJV
Now, over the years we have grown stronger, but the more I have prayed and meditated on this concept of growing stronger, I have come to the conclusion that really we have not grown any stronger at all. But, rather we have only just tapped more and more into the strength of God working in our lives by the greater challenges that we face each coming day. Since it is not our strength but God’s eternal strength we rely on it is then conclusive to say that we are just tapping into the greater strength that dwells within us.
“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”
I Corinthians 6:17 NKJV
The real point I want to state here as I speak to you that are reading this is the fact that ALL that call Jesus Lord and that the Holy Spirit enters have this eternal strength of God working in them. The key is to tap into it by asking God to give you strength and then leaning fully on Him. God is big and strong beyond our imagination, so when you lean on Him you can be rest assured He will hold you up.
God is good and He wants to bring us to new heights and reveal Himself to us through new challenges and experiences. Our job is to keep focused on Him and rely on Him fully as we walk through the shadow of hardship that tries to knock us down and hold us back. Believe me there will be times you will get knocked down, but the key is to get back up and pushing forward and not letting that shadow hold you back. This, of course, is done by the i dwelling power and strength of God working in us.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
I am not sure where you sit today in your life, but my advice to you is to stop sitting and get up and allow God to lead and guide you to where He wants you to be and what He wants you to do for Him. Rely completely on Him and tap into the eternal strength that dwells within you as you face the challenges ahead and enter into new promised lands along the way. Keep heart, keep faith and know that God will help you overcome as you go on to glorify and please Him above all else. Have a wonderful day and God bless!
