It is easy to lose heart and to become flavorless within our walk with the Lord and the work we do for Him. Becoming stale hinders us from accomplishing the will of God for our life and it is the sap that bogs down the flow of the Holy Spirit from within reaching out to touch other people’s lives. Jesus spoke of losing “flavor” within our life by explaining how we are the salt of the earth, and yet if we lose flavor we are good for nothing.
““Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!””
Luke 14:34-35 NKJV
The only true way to keep our “flavor” is by continually setting our sights back on Jesus. Whenever you begin to feel stale in your walk and work then stop what you are doing and retreat to prayer and meditation. Ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit and for Him to put the flavor back into your life. Salt not only adds flavor to the staleness of this fallen world, but it is also a preservative within the church to keep those who are saved and new to the faith to continue to grow within it.
Have you lost your “flavor?” Stop and pray that your flavor be returned and set your sights back Jesus wherein lies the flavor supplier.
