A popular song back in the 90’s and with it also carrying truth within the phrase that correlates with scripture itself. It is a power that does not stem from ourselves or the universe as many philosophers and prosperity gurus like to proclaim. But rather it is a power from on high, it is the indwelling Holy Spirit that gives live to our souls and enlightens our spiritual senses.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NKJV
In one of my most recent blog post, “You Are Stronger Than You Realize,” I go on to show that we are not necessarily made stronger through circumstances, but rather we are just tapping into the strength that dwells within us by the Spirit. The same applies towards having the power to overcome, excel and even move mountains.
It is not that we receive power little by little from the Lord to overcome certain obstacles that come our way or in order to move forward by moving a mountain. Instead we come to use more of the power that is set within us by the Holy Spirit by the amount of the circumstances and mountains we are presented with. What we fail to realize many of times is that we have greater power in store to actually do more than what our finite minds perceive to be done.
When we are set out on a mission by the leading of the Holy Spirit, starting a church, going on a mission trip, conducting a home bible study, worship leadership, and the list goes on, we tend to only use as much as needed to get the job done because we feel that is all there is. When in fact we are destined to do more as the power we have received is of eternal origins and is omnipotence, which means we can do far greater than what we perceive as a job well done!
The key here is to look at everything with God vision and see that not only can mountains be moved, but nations can be built in their place. We must dream big and then rely heavily on the Lord and the infinite power He supplies us with. We are to seek to do greater than our imagination and seek to have Godination(lovely made up word). Lol. And of course the chief end is not to bring ourselves glory or to take any credit at all, but rather to be done to bring God the glory and to shine forth His light to a sad and lost world around us.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 NKJV
I am not sure what God is calling you to pursue today, but whatever it is do it with your whole heart and dream bigger than your own imagination. Ask God to help you dream bigger and to reveal His dream for your life to you. Then move forward in faith and fully tap into the power that already resides within you, a power without end.
