Just Remember Job

Just remember Job should be a phrase to live by for many who are suffering through problems and issues in this life. I do not usually like talking about personal issues, especially through a blog post, but I feel called today to use it as an example and testimony on correlation with the topic. Just like Job we too can be attacked by the devil and be put in the midst of a storm.

“Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My wife Selina and I have finally came to a point of despair as our little girl is going through the Luekemia treatment process while bills upon bills flood in. At the same time Selina is pregnant and insurance will not cover the cost and all must be paid out of pocket. To add on we are in the middle of purchasing a home in Colorado where we will resume our daughters treatment and have felt called to go for many years.

Daunting issues along with a drastic move. But in the midst of all the drama we are called to find peace. We are commanded to not lost heart but to continue on in the strength of the Lord, standing firm against the attacks of the devil. Not only will we overcome, but we will excel and glorify God when the storm finally clears.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:11-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Do not get me wrong there are times when breaking down and crying out to God is a must. I believe God actually wants us to get to this point at times in order for Him to fully reveal Himself to us and for us to completely let go and rely on Him. But even in the midst of a breakdown we must continue to keep faith and trust in Him, knowing that He is good and will provide a way and will lift us up in the end.

As we continue to struggle with our issues I can not help but to keep faith and know that God will provide. Even though sometimes things may seems impossible with faith there are no mountains big enough that can not be moved. Now this is not to say that we do not lose heart from time to time and wonder if God is even with us, but it does mean that we always find ourselves setting our sights and trust in Him no matter how crazy it may get.

“God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭37:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The most amazing thing about the story of Job and how it relates to many of us and our storms is the fact that when things seem at their worse, a breakthrough is soon to happen. Job too had reached his lowest point with even his friends and wife nagging him, and yet his faith finally prevailed as he had a breakthrough and God blessed Him abundantly more than he was before. It is about keeping faith and keeping our sights set on the One that can lead us through it all onto the breakthrough.

“Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭42:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What are you going through today? Are you in a great storm like Job? Are you ready for a breakthrough? Continue to pray and praise God even when things seem impossible. Continue in faith while keeping your sights set on the One that keeps you above the waves as you walk on the water with Him through the raging sea and daunting storm.
