In the wake of all the violence and hate swirling throughout our country, I have felt compelled to chip in my two cents worth of thought on the topic. Inequality is one of the most prevalent issues that is separating our country at the moment, and yet I am completely convinced that there is no inequality at all we just tend to make it seem that way in our own minds. The slave days have ended long ago and to just live in America, regardless of race, is an absolute privilege to say the least.
The thing that I see being the problem within our country and society as a whole is that we are all spoiled rotten. We do the old sandwich deal like when we were kids, “But his half is bigger than mine, that’s inequality.” That sounds pretty silly when put in that manner, and yet that is exactly what is going on. Instead of just loving one another, we bash one another and try and make people feel bad because they are white or black or Hispanic. Really?
I have found that the real problem lies within the hearts of the individuals today. The real problem is that the people rioting, proclaiming inequality and hating on groups of people are filled with their own desires, rather than the love of God. I am not here to bash any particular group, because frankly to me all groups are extreme and spoiled and what they all need is Jesus Christ.
Without Jesus being in the hearts and minds of the people we begin to focus on the “affairs” of this life. We begin to focus on problems rather than focus on the Solution, which is Jesus Christ and the love and word of God dwelling within us.
“No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.”
II Timothy 2:4 NKJV
One of the main points of this blog post is to encourage Christians to not stand with these groups or become entangled with the half a sandwich bull honky. But rather we should stand with Jesus Christ and to shed forth His light and love to the lost and confused people of this world. As amabassadors of God we need to be all together one in unity within the body of Christ as there are no colors in Christ, but rather we are all the same and equal.
Colossians 3:11 NKJV
To finalize and sum it all up, there will be no equality with our Jesus in our lives. No group, politician, congress or whatever will not bring it, only the power and love of Christ working in our midst. Let us spread the love of God to people, rather than the schemes and half a sandwich ideology that the world shouts. Have a wonderful weekend and God bless!
