We live in a society today that does not like conflict of any kind and shuns those deemed “offensive.” And yet when we live for God and by His word we must come to understand that we will offend a lot of people. People of the world reject the truth and will do everything they can in every hateful manner possible to stop someone from spreading the truth. It is at these moments of opposition that we stand firm and strong against the armies of this world in hopes to at least rescue some and bring God glory.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””
John 16:33 NKJV
Of course what the world is actually offended by is not us, but the word of God and the Holy Spirit working through us. They are offended and hurt by the power of the word of God as it says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV.
It is up to us to stand firm and to use the word as our weapon against the hate and ideology of this world. Only then can we overcome and be victorious for Christ. We can not be afraid of what the world tries to do to us or what they say against us for their doings are nothing compared to the riches that await us in heaven and their words are but dust in the wind.
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”
Ephesians 6:17 NKJV
As much as we would like peace on earth and to just not have to go out and fight, we must have courage and know that it is our calling and that there will never be peace on earth until the return of Christ. No matter how much the world may proclaim peace and security we can be rest assured that the scheme of the devil is at work and that there is no security in this fallen world we live in, no matter what systems, governments, groups or otherwise are at work.
We have a mission set before each and everyone of us as the world continues to crumble into utter destruction. We must stand firm in the word, filled with the Holy Spirit and covered in the blood of Christ ready to fight the good fight. There is no better time to start than now and no better way than those around you. Go on good soldier and may the peace of God be with you always.
Are you ready to fight and stand against the opposition?
