Experiencing The Knowing

There is a great difference between knowing God, and knowing about Him. We sometimes become confused in our society today as to whether someone knows Him or has knowledge of Him. People shout verses and theology around, and yet do not understand much of the meaning behind what they proclaim. Books upon books, searching and searching while still never coming to know the Truth.

“always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭3:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A sad truth that has infected much of our society today, especially the younger generation. Basing a relationship with God either by acquired facts and verses, or by feelings and emotions. But to fully know God one must not only acquire the knowledge of Him but also experience Him.

Just like the difference between a young person fresh out of college and an older person with 30 years of experience. Both have knowledge of a certain matter, but only one has truly experienced the matter first hand. Knowledge without experience is but dust in the wind. No matter how much one knows about God, they will never fully understand the knowledge they acquired without also experiencing God in their everyday life.

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
