Modern Day Revival

We have finally come to a much needed turning point within the church in midst of chaos that surrounds us on a daily basis with mass shootings becoming a common thing, terroist attacks increasing and hate caving in from all sides. It’s time to ask God to pour out His Spirit upon the churches in America and throughout the world and light a fire within each individual believers heart. It’s time for a modern day revival to turn the hearts of both old and young back to the Living God.

Atheism has gained a huge following over the years mostly due to it being the foundational teaching within public schools today, a lack of biblical teaching within the home and churches, and an above the water view, feel good approach within the churches as well.

We have unfortunately veered from teaching profound truth to please others and in due process have allowed atheism to overtake the in-depth part. At the same time we have pushed the Holy Spirit out and have brought secularism in the church.

We have become like a tomb for dead souls instead of being a place of spiritual revival. Again we have allowed atheist to teach science while we teach the “good person principles.”

Today’s churches believe that science and religion are separate and do not go together which in turn is leading the younger generation to fall away and follow atheist principles. We have dumbed ourselves down so much over the years and have coward behind a sole faith approach to the point that we have no defense for our beliefs. In the long run atheist use the church as a footstool and laugh believers to scorn.

At the end of the day we have to ask ourselves the important question, “Are we truly believing in what we believe, or are we playing Christian just to feel good and be apart of a community?”

Many of people I have talked to over the years have told me they don’t know if God really is real, but they primarily go to church to be apart of community, fellowship and to try and be a “good person.” Others even went as far as to say they “feel good” for going and that is their main reason.

Now I don’t wish to be so harsh by no means, but ladies and gents we have come to a place within the modern church today that is a trap. We have cornered ourselves in and have become vulnerable to whatever the liberal agenda or atheist principles tells us to change. If they feel it is wrong what the church is doing or saying, then change it!

We must come to understand that the vulnerability is only going to get worse as time goes on, that is unless we change something and quick. I’m not saying we need a reformation, but a revival. We need a fire lit under our butts like never before, and I would think our children that the atheist are gathering up would cause us to stand firm and strong within God.

A lot of the problem lies within the knowledge of the people and church as a whole. When any atheist attacks or our children ask a question what the teacher taught them that day that seems contradictory to the Bible, we should be able to give some answer, and not the “because the Bible tells me so” Quote.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;”

‭‭I Peter‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The problem is that many Christians don’t even read their Bibles today let alone do any type of in-depth study. Churches as well have a problem with sugar coating everything so people can leave “feeling good about themselves.” The church is not a feel good factory, it’s a place of worship, fellowship and growing. And the only way to grow in the word is for each person to study to “show themselves approved” and for the church to teach in-depth so the congregation is prepared for what awaits them outside the walls.

Secularism is only going to grow and get stronger and it is our job as Christians to grow and getting stronger. It is our job to, not only tell others about Jesus, but to give a real reason why to believe. It is our job as parents to be able to somewhat answer tough questions our kids bring us about life and God, and if we can’t answer it then the pastor should at the very least be able to!

I’m not saying we all have to become theologians, but I do believe we should have some basic knowledge of the Bible and of science. Unfortunately most Christians don’t even know the Bible let alone science. Instead everyone is too worried about what Donald Trump says or what a group of people with IQ’s of 50 think about some issue. We have to come to understand that DT or any group of people are going to solve the issues, only Jesus and the spreading of His Truth will bring healing to this broken, sad world.

“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It’s time for Christians and the church as a whole to study up and stand up and be ready to give an account to our kids, co workers, secularism and evil itself. It’s time to stop backing down and start standing up in the power of the Holy Spirit and start lighting fires like never before. Ladies and gents it’s time for a modern day revival!
