One of the famous phrases from the Star Wars franchise, “It’s a trap!” Sometimes we can come to a point in life as though we feel trapped with no way out and no matter how much we pray it doesn’t get better. Time and time again it is like a wall has been set up and life itself is on the track to take us down and under as we grip in fear. But be rest assured that when we feel trapped, God is at work in our life.
“And Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace.’ And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But life up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” (Exodus 14:13-16 NKJV).
As it was for Moses and the Israelite’s, the same goes for many of us today. We feel trapped and feel the pressure of life closing in on us. The more we cry out to God the more He seems silent, but it may be just that we have approached the situation in the incorrect manner. The people cried out to Moses and then Moses cried onto God, but God response helps clarify the matter when He ask Moses, “Why do you cry to Me?” Perhaps, instead of crying to God we should look to Him for guidance, thank Him, and move forward in faith.
Maybe the wall you face today is more likely an illusion built up by your own fears within and the way through it is not by crying to God, but moving forward in faith while keeping your sights set on Him. When we thank Him for what has not occurred yet and move forward in faith, many of times that is when the door opens and the wall crumbles right before you. Don’t cry and instead move with a thankful heart.
The question to ask yourself now is, “What walls are holding you back? Have you been crying out to God?” It’s time to praise and trust Him as you move forward to what He has prepared before you. If the Israelite’s would have not obeyed and just sat there in fear they would have been slaughtered or captured and taken back into captivity. It’s time to break free and move onward to the promise land that awaits you. God bless!
